Garrong Park is a new brown-field parkland created by Merri-bek City Council (formally Moreland City Council), in Tinning Street Brunswick.

In order to create the park, a portion of a factory complex was demolished, necessitating the introduction of an engineered supporting structure to ensure the lateral stability of the remaining building portion.

Dickson Architecture was engaged to translate the engineering requirements into a visually cohesive and functional arbour, choreographing the built for to work with the landscape and playground design.  Included within the arbour structure is a new DDA compliant public toilet, designed as an integral part of the arbour rather than as the more conventional drop-in prefabricated toilet.

For Garrong Park, the Arbour frames the functional park spaces directly adjacent to the linear promenade, giving access both through and to the park beyond.
