ISKCON COMMERCIAL KITCHEN

The ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) Commercial Kitchen project was the redevelopment of the kitchen facilities at the Danks Street temple complex.  Prior to renovation, ISKCON were operating in the original Victorian era building, in a Kitchen that had been upgraded in an ad hoc manner since the 1970’s.

Heritage and Building Permit considerations required a large single storey extension to the original Victorian building, causing minimal visual impact to the neighbouring properties while providing maximum internal facility.  The new kitchen is a full commercial kitchen with separate preparation, cooking, storage, and wash areas.

The new kitchen provides prepared food for ISKCON’s restaurants, including Gopal’s and the iconic Crossways.
